The SRN "AA" division is a significant and challenging level in our player's baseball development because it's their first experience with "live" pitching meaning facing an opposing pitcher of similar age versus hitting a ball off tee (T-Ball) or the comfort of having an adult pitch (Single A).
Even though the games are modified to gradually incorporate base stealing skills and run limitations set per inning, the players will experience working as a team, playing various positions while reacting to game situations. Umpires will be utilized to call balls and strikes. Also, as in all SRN divisions, the coaches will continue to build from their previous experience and focus on many baseball fundamentals (hitting, ground and fly balls, pitching, catching, base running, defense and game situations). Additional time will be required by the coaches to identify pitchers and develop a player's pitching skills and also for the players to gain confidence entering into batters box to face "live" pitching. It's a lot of information and instruction in a short period of time which makes the manager's training plans and players participation at scheduled practice very important.
At the AA level, we will have children that range from 8 to 10 years of age with 9 years of age the majority age group. Our divisional goals are to ensure we maintain the player’s safety, confidence and enjoyment for the game. We'll look and ask the players for four things:
1. Each player tries their best (hustles, good sportsmanship)
2. They encourage and support each other as a team
3. They don't give up (don't get discourage or lack confidence)
4. Willingness to learn
As we accomplish these concepts, we'll establish early a positive attitude toward the game while developing team spirit and competitive advantage. We appreciate your support and efforts to assist us to meet our goals and ensure we keep the game fun for the players, coaches and parents.
SRNLL encourages Parents to attend games & practices. Parent participation and involvement is a key success factor with your child’s enjoyment of the baseball season as well as his or her success in learning the fundamental skills of the game. We encourage all parents to practice at home with their child.
The SRNLL Baseball Program is an instructional program. To achieve each Division’s development goal, all teams will provide a practice schedule prior League play. Player’s participation at practice is essential to their development and promotion to next level of play.
Parent’s first line of communication is the Team Managers & Coaches. If you need additional information or assistance, we encourage you to pursue the line of communication through your Division Coordinator, VP of Baseball Operations and SRN President. Please click on Board of Directors.
